If you are arrested for a misdemeanor but have been charged with a felony in the past, you will not be able to post bond that night. You will have to wait until the following morning at your fist appearance. Also the bond has to be dropped off by a licensed bail agent. The bond can not be written at the jail but in most likely the bail bond agency.
A bond is written in a specific way and with an idemnitor, the person(s) who will sign a contract with the bail bond company agreeing to protect the bail bond agency from any loss for the entire face value of the bond. When the inmate is released, they are allowed one phone call to inform any family members what is going on. Then a court date will be made and you will be required to attend. However, if you do miss your assigned court date by mistake, often times an affidavit can be filed with the clerk of the court explaining the discrepancy and a new court date may be issued. Always make sure to call your bail bondsman and let him know the situation.
All bonds are allowed to be posted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Our office is open 24 hours and can make this process very easy for you. Your timely release is our priority.
